Paint Kitchen Serving Up at Oswaldtwistle Mills

What’s it all about?

This is the first of our chalk paint workshops at Oswaldtwistle Mills and it’s all about up-cycling! We teach you the skills you need to turn your unwanted furniture into stunning masterpieces, and it’s all happening on Saturday 24th May 2019.

Why should I do it?

There are so many unwanted items of furniture in homes, charity shops and auctions, so do the environment a good turn and book on to a Paint Kitchen Chalk Paint Workshop. We will give you the knowledge you need to change your furniture into something that you can treasure and ‘wow’ your visitors with.

What will I do?

To name but a few, G-Plan, Ercol, Stag; all solid pieces of brilliantly designed wood furniture designed and built by craftsmen and women – the problem is, they are brown! Annie Sloan chalk paint adheres to un-sanded surfaces so there is no sanding or prepping needed! It’s become the fastest and most popular paint with up-cyclers and furniture hackers to date, and it’s the brand that Paint Kitchen loves. You will create your own ‘take-home’ sample board full of finishes and techniques you have learned, and this will be your starting point for practising on your own pieces. This is going to give you the freedom to make your furniture any colour or finish you like. You can also book on to an advanced course to try more techniques, or to work with Patricia on a ‘Bootcamp’ style transformation day.

What do I get?

In our 3 hour chalk painting workshop you will learn the 3 most popular techniques used by professional furniture restorers and you will work with the Annie Sloan brand of products- chalk paints, waxes and finishes.

All materials are provided in the costs, including tools, refreshments and a structured session delivered by our qualified professional tutor Patricia.

This is both a therapeutic and fun learning experience, delivered in a well lit, clean studio at Oswaldtwistle Mills Business and Conference centre. All you need to bring is yourself and an enthusiasm to learn new skills and techniques. It’s completely informal, we chat, laugh, and there are no rights or wrongs or critiques! It’s thoroughly enjoyable learning!

Advice on transforming your own pieces will be given throughout the session, it’s all included in the price – show your photos of pieces you want to transform, and you’ll get expert help and advice from Patricia. You will leave the workshop inspired and ready to start your own inspirational projects at home or wherever you fancy. You might even want to sell a few of your masterpieces for a bit of profit.

The course itself will last 3 hours and costs £50, which is very competitive with standard rates. We hope you can join us and start your bank holiday weekend the way you are supposed to!
